Ryan Rausch, Dan Raymond, Sandy Ward and Adam Higgins, along with their trusty photographer, Elizabeth Sanderson, participated in all events with a stellar showing.
After coming off a busy Winter of traveling to events all over North America, it was a bit of a treat to get to have this event take place in Whistler. In all honesty we were actually really excited about it.
Ryan Rausch - "Whistler Kid" forever.
Day One consisted of a Poker Run over both mountains. Our objective was to cruise the mountains and complete challenges to collect cards to complete our poker hand. Our crew collected 5 Aces, and a shoe in to play poked under the lights and cameras at the Long Horn, poker legend Dan Raymond was our selected representative. The game, was unfortunately rigged and the participant's pre-selected when the day began; Too bad.
Here are some of our highlights.
Dan loves tindy's. I have no idea why.Day Two: Mogul Madness...
After a beautiful +3 day on the mountain, the clouds moved in bringing along colder temps. This made the dual slalom mogul race into a death match; picture a steep pitch with rock hard moguls
The format was a head to head match down the pitch around gates, gates that did not follow any possible line through the moguls. Hilarity ensued. Our boy Dan Raymond finished in 3rd!
Days 4 and 5: Halfpipe
Well the sun came back out and the pipe contest went off. Awesome stuff went down over both days. Ryan and Dan were killing it with 9's and 7's in all sorts of directions, I think I saw Dan do a switch back 10 at one point, Ryan blasted out of the pipe and over a fence on the deck, always an innovator. I spent most of my time playing on a log that they had sticking out of the pipe, doing bonks and handplants. Louie Vito did a cab 12, won best trick, and TJ Schnieder progressed all day long and ended up winning the $. I can definately say that Danny Kass and the Grendade Crew sure know how to put on a contest; we had a blast.
